The Continued History of the Model A
Margaret Daniel passed away in June of 1999, at the age of 82 and almost four years since the writing of this letter. William Richard Daniel Sr, husband of Margaret Daniel passed in 2003 and at this time the car passed to my father, William Richard Daniel Jr.
From 1995-2004, the car continued to be entered in the Old Settler’s Parade in Floydada TX, with it’s last appearance being driven by myself and my father.
In 2003, W.R. Daniel Jr. (“Danny” moving forward) and Cheryl Daniel had begun traveling and selling Bar-B-Q across Texas and Oklahoma as “Tubby’s Grub”. After W.R. Daniel Sr.’s passing in 2003, the family home of Danny and Cheryl was sold in early 2005. The model “A” had continued to be kept in the Daniel Family barn in the McCoy community, and after 2005 the Model “A” rested in the barn until 2011.
Chad Daniel, of Petersburg TX had it moved to his maternal grandparents barn in Petersburg TX in 2011. The car was still in great running condition, and it was put into the Petersburg Parade in 2012, the car’s first appearance in a parade since 2004. This would be the Model “A”’s last appearance in a West Texas parade.
As time passed, Danny and Cheryl Daniel continued to travel with me around the country, Danny decided that the Model “A” would pass to me when I was ready and able to take on the vehicle. The Model “A” had been moved back to the Daniel Family barn in the McCoy community in approximately 2013, and the decision that the car was to pass to me was made approximately in 2016 when I was 23 years old. I was living in Dallas TX and had just graduated from University of Texas at Arlington, and was still getting my bearings as a young adult.
Danny Daniel passed away on Nov. 11, 2021. The car had continued to rest in the Daniel Family barn through this time period, slowly collecting dust as the West Texas landscape changed around the barn.

In 2024, Cheryl Daniel decided that the Daniel Family barn would be sold, and began an effort of clearing out generations of items, of which the Model “A” was one of them. I went out to West Texas in April to take a look at the car, and as beautiful as she was she was absolutely filthy.

Model A condition, April 2024
Later that year, having found the stability in life I needed both professionally and personally, I brought the Model “A” to Santa Fe NM by trailer with the assistance of my great friend “Doc” Mark Dock. On Sept 7th, 2024. The odometer read 56,365 and no additional work past what Margaret Daniel had written about had been performed on the car.

This is where my story with the car truly begins.
